WHO ARE WE?
DFA Texas State is a team of students working to tackle social challenges in the areas of health, education, and environment—creating impact through innovation.
DFA is driven by human centered design that discovers areas where we can make a difference in the community. We create impact through learning, empathy, collaboration, leadership, and creativity.
We believe that students have the capacity to take on any challenge and make an impact while still studying to become the future leaders of change.
OUR LAUNCHING PROJECT
Throughout our first semester as a studio, we sought to improve mental health among teens and young adults in the greater San Marcos area. Centered between Austin & San Antonio, San Marcos is a unique area for many reasons including the university, the river, outlets, and more. Even with this abundance of resources, there are still plenty of problems within the community. Through our extensive research, we found out a lot about our community members, and how we can help. Founded in 2018, TXST DFA is a group of college students from different disciplines at Texas State University who come together to solve problems within the San Marcos community. Within DFA, there are different subgroups in charge of Media Control and Marketing, Events, Outreach and Member and Team Management. Learn more about our team!
